Pet friendly in vermont?

I'm thinking about heading to Vermont soon to check out the mountains. I'm looking into Stratton and also Stowe for a long weekend. The trip will take about 5-6 hours to drive.. I'm going to be chauferred by my owners so I'm hoping to nap along the way. I've been told that dog friendly hotels may be tricky to find. Honestly, I don't know who wouldnt want to host me as their guest. I did see that the trapp family lodge in stowe is dog friendly. This may just be as close to Switzerland as I get. My owner has been there before when she was younger. I hope she books this place! L.l. beds, hike maps, water bowls in rooms and treats!
